Summary: AmzInsight is an internal seller analytics platform. Data accessed via Amazon SP-API and Advertising API is used solely for internal business operations analysis. We do not sell, share, or monetize any seller or advertising data with third parties.
1. Overview
AmzInsight ("the Platform", "we", "us") is an internal data analytics and advertising optimization platform developed for private use by Amazon sellers. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect information accessed through Amazon's Selling Partner API (SP-API) and Amazon Advertising API.
By using AmzInsight, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Data We Access
AmzInsight accesses the following data categories via authorized Amazon APIs:
Via Amazon SP-API:
- Sales and traffic reports (ASIN-level sales, page views, conversion rates)
- Order details and order history
- Settlement and financial reports
- FBA inventory data and inventory snapshots
- Product catalog and listing information
- Customer product ratings and review counts
Via Amazon Advertising API:
- Campaign performance metrics (impressions, clicks, spend, sales)
- Sponsored Products keyword and targeting data
- Ad group and ad-level performance reports
- Search term reports and keyword bid data
- Product targeting reports
3. How We Use Data
All data accessed through Amazon APIs is used exclusively for:
- Internal analytics: Generating sales dashboards, trend analysis, and performance reports for internal business decision-making
- Advertising optimization: Analyzing ad campaign performance and generating bid optimization recommendations
- Listing improvement: AI-assisted product listing optimization based on existing content and market data
- Operational reporting: Inventory monitoring, financial reconciliation, and settlement analysis
We do not use this data for advertising, resale, marketing to third parties, or any purpose outside of internal seller operations management.
4. Data Storage & Security
AmzInsight is deployed on a private internal network (intranet). Data storage practices:
- Database: Structured data is stored in a self-hosted PostgreSQL database on internal servers, accessible only within the private network
- Raw report archive: Original report files are stored in Amazon S3 with appropriate access controls for long-term retention and auditability
- Cache: Temporary query results are cached in Redis, with automatic expiration
- Access control: The platform is accessible only within the internal network; no public authentication layer is required
- Credentials: Amazon API credentials (Client ID, Client Secret, refresh tokens) are stored encrypted in environment variables and never committed to source control
5. Data Sharing & Third Parties
AmzInsight does not:
- Sell Amazon seller data to any third party
- Share advertising performance data with competitors or external analytics services
- Use seller data for purposes beyond those authorized by the account holder
- Transfer data outside the internal network except for authorized S3 storage and LLM API calls
Limited third-party integrations:
- LLM Provider: For AI-powered features (listing optimization, keyword analysis), anonymized product context may be sent to a configured OpenAI-compatible LLM API endpoint. No personally identifiable seller information is included in these requests.
- Amazon Web Services (S3): Raw report data is archived to an authorized S3 bucket under the same Amazon account.
6. Amazon API Usage Compliance
AmzInsight accesses Amazon data in compliance with:
- Amazon Marketplace Developer Agreement
- Amazon Advertising API Terms of Service
- Amazon SP-API Usage Policies
Data obtained via Amazon APIs is used solely for the purposes described in this policy and within the scope of authorized API access granted by the seller account holder.
7. Data Retention
Data retention follows these guidelines:
- Structured analytics data: Retained indefinitely for historical trend analysis
- Raw report files (S3): Retained indefinitely for audit and reconciliation purposes
- API access tokens: Refresh tokens are stored securely; access tokens are ephemeral (not persisted)
- Cache data: Automatically expires per configured TTL (typically 1–24 hours)
Data can be deleted upon request by the account holder (see Contact section below).
8. Your Rights
As the seller account holder authorizing API access, you have the right to:
- Request a summary of what data has been accessed and stored
- Request deletion of your store's data from the platform
- Revoke API authorization at any time through Amazon Seller Central or Amazon Advertising Console
- Request correction of any inaccurate stored information
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our data practices or applicable regulations. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. Continued use of AmzInsight following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
